Connect (X) Debuts in Charlotte
Bandwidth Logic was the beneficiary of fortuitous timing with the wireless industry last spring. The two leading industry conferences: WIA’s Wireless Infrastructure Show and HetNet made a decision over the summer of 2017 to merge the events into a new, unified event that would be branded Connect (X).
For Bandwidth Logic, the event presented the perfect opportunity to unveil our new branding and messaging. We signed up as one of the inaugural sponsors of the show, and had excellent signage in heavily trafficked areas throughout the show floor.

Touhill says total attendance increased 30% year-over-year from the 2017 WIA show. She attributes the growth to marketing to strong, local partners in the public safety arena, as well as to members of the CBRS Alliance. There was a 13% increase in exhibitors over previous shows, and Touhill is interested in increasing that percentage even further. Expanding the exhibit hall is one of the key items show management is looking to improve for 2019.

In general, attendees and exhibitors were pleased with the event and feedback was positive. Some of the most popular break-out sessions included Connected Cities: How Municipalities Play a Key Role and Ramping up for 5G. The most popular general sessions included former Police Commissioner Ed Davis from the City of Boston; Ajit Pai, the FCC Chairman; and “The View from the Top” executive roundtable.
